Valentino Rossi: Triumph Moto2 is good preparation for MotoGP

Valentino Rossi, in an interview, has stated that he thinks the Triumph Moto2 machines are more of a race bike than the previous Honda 600 and a good preparation for riders for MotoGP. I due campioni (Rossi e Marquez), che hanno entrambi i fratelli in Moto2, dicono che è un motore adatto per prepararsi alla MotoGP.

Rossi has never ridden in Moto2 but his half-brother Luca Marini came sixth in the recent Moto2 race at the GP of the Americas and is currently sixth in the Moto2 championship. Rossi said that with the Honda 600 Moto2 bikes were more of a street-bike on the racetrack but with the Triumph 765cc engine and the electronics from Magneti Marelli they are much more of a racebike.

Even Mark Marquez, who rides for Honda, has said that the engine is much more race-oriented than the Honda. He also has a brother in Moto2, Alex Marquez.

Cal Crutchlow also weighed in by saying that "The good thing is if the British riders have a shit race, at least the engine is going to win. So there’s going to be a British winner!"

The next Moto2 race is on Sunday the 5th May at Jerez in Spain.
