February

B'ham & Wolves February Folly. CANCELLED APOLOGIES ADVERSE WEATHER
Weather Dependant. Meeting at 10.00 a.m. at Dobbies garden centre on A5 by the junction of A449 Gailley. We will leave Dobbies by 10.15 a.m. We will travel through Penkridge, across Cannock Chase, through Admaston and Abbots Bromley, Newborough, Needwood, Anslow and Beam Hill before arriving at Burton-on-Trent. If there has been any ice / snow we will probably go the more direct route along A5 and A38. Return journey will probably follow the more direct route unless it;s a particularly nice day in which case we may stretch it out a bit. If the road / weather conditions are poor, e.g. severe ice / snow, or heavy rain this run will be postponed. This is a run of roughly 30 miles each way to one of the rare steaming days at Claymills Victorian Pumping Station held only four or five times a year. If the weather is bad we will postpone and try and re-arrange for a weekend later in the year. We will meet just inside the A5 entrance to Dobbies. I will be on a green 900 Sprint or black Tiger 955i. As always, most communication will be via Facebook, but I can be contacted at 'aandylight@aol.com' in the event of the weather being uncertain.

B'ham & Wolves Pulled Pork Baps
If you enjoyed the earlier pie and chip night, or perhaps that wasn't to your liking, how about a pulled pork bap? We thought we would try something new on a Tuesday night at the club and anything that involves free food usually goes down pretty well. Pork baps, with or without stuffing and apple sauce, will be served from 20.00 hrs ( 8.00 p.m.) until it has all gone. All branch members and guests are invited and very welcome to come along and have your supper with our compliments. If you haven't been for a while, or are a new member and were just waiting for an excuse to come and visit now is your chance.

June

37th Thunderbird Rally
B’ham & Wolves TOMCC would like to invite you to the 37th Thunderbird Rally, Friday 26th to Sunday 28th June 2020. After losing our rally site again for the second time in three years, we have eventually managed to find another site which fits the bill. Wolverhampton Rugby Club, (Wolverhampton RUFC) have offered us the use of their site off Castlecroft Road, Wolverhampton, WV3 8NA. The new site offers the usual facilities, Bar, function room, 24 hr toilet and shower facilities, easy access from local main roads, but most significant this year is a return to a flat camping site. There will be the usual ride out on Saturday followed by a Concours on site. Saturday evening will see our usual Hog Roast and there will be a disco on both Friday & Saturday night. There will also be a live band on Saturday night. Breakfasts will be available to buy Saturday and Sunday mornings. In addition, on Friday night the on-site kitchen will supply a hot meal for anyone that wishes to buy one. This could be a stew, a curry, a chilli or something similar, we have yet to decide. Alternatively, there is a chip shop 10 minutes’ walk from the site and a 5 minute ride away will find you in Merry Hill where there is Chinese food, a Curry House, an Italian restaurant & takeaway and another chip shop. The site itself is right on the green belt to the West of the Wolverhampton borough and only minutes away from the border with South Staffordshire and a short ride from Shropshire. For those who like to explore the local area Whitwick Manor is right on the door step and, a short ride away. The Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal is a few minutes’ walk away and The South Staffordshire Railway Walk borders the site. If you would like to explore further there are numerous local landmarks within a moderate ride such as the historic market town of Bridgnorth, The Bratch locks and pumping station, RAF Cosford Museum, Mosely Old Hall (National Trust) and Boscobel House (English Heritage) to name just a few. We look forwards to welcoming you all. B’ham & Wolves TOMCC
