Triumph announce Bud Ekins Special Edition Bonnevilles

The new Bud Ekins specials have been announced as new versions of the T120 and T100 Bonnevilles. Bud Ekins was a top motorcross and desert racer, Hollywood stuntman, and one of Steve McQueen’s closest friends and riding partners - a genuine motorcycle legend. These bikes are a tribute to him.

Mechanically just standard T120 and T100s, the enhancements are more cosmetic. There is a unique special edition paint scheme with a two-colour tank with Bud Ekins branding. The old Triumph logo from the Meriden days has been resurrected and is on the tank for the first time on a Modern Triumph. You get a monza petrol cap, LED Indicators and a few other accessories.

The Bud Ekins T120 is £300 more than the standard T120 and the Bud Ekins T100 is £300 more than the standard T100.

It's always interesting when Triumph release a Special Edition. Usually this means that there is a model change coming. We have had an Ace and Diamond limited edition release not that long ago, now these two. The last time we had something similar was when the Newchurch and Spirit limited editions were brought out - and that heralded the end of the 865cc engined Bonnevilles. The current Bonnevilles have been around for only 4 years (the 865s were around for 9) so it would be a bit early to make a substantial change... but you never know.
