If you haven't booked your place at the Meriden Branch's Bring It Home Rally then you really don't have long to do it. It is being held from the 4th to the 6th August at the Barkers’ Butts Rugby Football Club (Pickford Grange Road, Coventry CV5 9AR) which is within sight of the location where the original Meriden factory stood.
The event raises much-needed funds for local and national charities. Last year over £550 was raised for the Air Ambulance and also for Prostate Cancer UK. This year the event will be raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
You can pitch your tent from midday on the Friday. There will be hot food and drinks available in the club house. On the Friday night there will be a disco, and on the Saturday night there will be live music from The Intruders and a late bar. You'll also be able to get a cooked breakfast on the Saturday and Sunday mornings.
As usual, there will be Awards for various accomplishments - such as the Best Branch Attendance (hint hint). As this is the 50th Anniversary of the Daytona there will also be awards for the Best Meriden Built Daytona and the Best Hinckley Built Daytona.
Prices are extremely reasonable at £15 on the day and £12 in advance (please include an SSAE).
