It’s fair to say that these are unprecedented and uncertain times. Unheard of social restrictions have been put in place to keep everyone safe and this has come at the cost of enjoying our hobby. Still, the restrictions are necessary and we hope that all of our Members will survive the isolation to ride again once the situation comes to an end.
The measures brought in by the UK Government will have an effect on the Club. Primarily all UK Branch physical social activity – such as branch nights and ride-outs – will have been cancelled (the Italian branch’s social activity was cancelled weeks ago). As you may be aware, the forthcoming Trifest Somerset event and the Club AGM had already been postponed in light of the crisis. Be certain though that this is only temporary and as soon as the restrictions are lifted, the Club will start social events again.
With the situation as it is at the moment, we will still be able to send Nacelle to you next month (those in the USA should be getting this month’s Nacelle shortly if not already). The Club Officers can all be reached by e-mail so can continue to give advice and assistance. One casualty of the restrictions are Membership Cards – it will not be possible to post them out during the current restrictions so if you have not yet received a membership card then you won’t be getting one until after the UK restrictions have finished.
Although physical social activity has ceased, online social activity has not. You can get in touch with other Triumph Owners through the TOMCC Members’ Forum on our website where you can get your Triumph questions answered, give advice, or just have a laugh. If you have not signed into the Forum before (or have forgotten your password) then you will need to get a password from the Website itself: Click where it says Sign In (top right). Then click on the second link in the Sign In box (where it says ‘Click here if you have forgotten or don’t have a password’), enter your email address and click Request password. You should get an email through with the username and password to use to Sign In to the Forum (https://tomcc.org/Forum). The email may go into your Junk Mail folder (and there may be more than one Junk Mail folder) so please check there if it isn’t in your Inbox within a few minutes. It may also be possible that you have changed email address since joining the Club in which case you won’t get an email so in this case and as a last resort please get in touch with the Club’s Webmaster to get your details updated.
We would also encourage all TOMCC Members who are on Facebook to look up their branch’s Facebook group and join in – even if it is just to post a picture of your ride or to get some cleaning tips.
We would also encourage you to continue to be active. Now may be the time to fit that accessory you bought weeks ago, or to strip down and clean those carburettors, or just to give your pride and joy a deep clean and polish. We would love to see the pictures online and you should send in any constructive or humorous or other pictures of how you are coping with not being out on your Triumph in to Nacelle.
We wish all our Members in the UK, USA, Italy, and around the world health and happiness in this difficult time. È appropriato definire questi tempi come senza precedenti ed incerti. Misure di restrizione sociale mai sentite prima sono state adottate per garantire sicurezza a tutti e questo avrà un impatto sul nostro hobby. Tuttavia, le restrizioni sono necessarie e noi speriamo che tutti i nostri Membri passeranno indenni attraverso l’isolamento per tornare alla guida delle proprie moto non appena tutto sarà finito.
Le misure introdotte dal Governo del Regno Unito avranno in impatto sulle attività del Club. In primo luogo, tutte le attività sociali fisiche dei Branch nel Regno Unito- come ad esempio le serate e giri in moto- dovranno essere annullate (il Branch italiano ha già cancellato le attività social da settimane). Come saprete, il Trifest Somerset Event e l’Assemblea Generale del Club sono state già rinviate per la crisi in corso. State pur certi tuttavia che tutto ciò e ‘ solo temporaneo e non appena le restrizioni saranno eliminate, gli eventi social del Club riprenderanno.
Nella situazione attuale, potremo continuare ad inviarvi Nacelle il mese prossimo (i membri USA dovrebbero essere in procinto di ricevere a breve questo mese, se non l’hanno già ricevuta). I Club Officers continueranno ad essere raggiungibili via e-mail, perciò continueranno a dare assistenza. L’inconveniente causato dalle restrizioni in atto riguarda le Membership Cards- non sarà possibile spedirle durante la vigenza delle attuali misure restrittive e pertanto coloro che non hanno ancora ricevuto la loro Membership Card non la riceveranno fino a quando le restrizioni nel Regno Unito non saranno cessate.
A differenza delle attività sociali fisiche, quelle online continueranno. Potrete continuare ad interagire con gli altri Triumph Owners nel Forum dei Membri TOMCC del nostro sito, dove potrete avere risposte alle vostre domande, dare consigli o anche solo un piacevole momento di svago. Se non vi siete ancora registrati nel Forum (o avete dimenticato la password), avrete bisogno di ottenere una password dal sito: Cliccate in alto a destra su “sign in” e poi nel secondo link della Sign In box, dove dice "clicca qui se hai dimenticato o non hai una password", inserite il vostro indirizzo email e cliccate su "Richiedi la password". Riceverete a questo punto una e-mail con il vostro username e password per registrarvi nel Forum (https://tomcc.org/Forum). Se non riceverete la e-mail entro pochi minuti, controllate le vostre caselle Spam, perché potrebbe essere lì. Potrebbe anche essere che avete cambiato il vostro indirizzo e-mail dopo la vostra iscrizione al Club, nel qual caso contattate il Club Webmaster per far aggiornare i vostri dati.
Vi invitiamo anche a seguire i gruppi Facebook dei vostri branch di riferimento ed unirvi a loro- anche se solo per postare una foto del vostro giro in moto o per qualche consiglio utile su come pulirla.
Vi raccomandiamo di mantenervi attivi. Potrebbe essere questo il momento per sistemare quell’accessorio acquistato qualche settimana fa, o per smontare e pulire quei carburatori, o per una pulizia approfondita e lucidatura. Saremo lieti di guardare le vostre foto on line utili o spiritose o le vostre foto che ci illustrano come state affrontando il vostro periodo di sospensione dei vostri giri sulla vostra Triumph su Nacelle.
