The organisers of the Burt Munroe challenge in Invercargill have changed their dates and in future will hold their event in February. They have confirmed the date for 2019 as 7 - 10 February 2019. This means in order to avoid a clash the TOMCC NZ rally will move to February 22-24 2019.
This will be great for people who choose to travel to NZ for this rally as it gives them chance to attend the Burt Munroe Weekend also.
WATOC (World Association of Triumph Owners Clubs) is an organisation which aims to bring together Triumph Owners in different Clubs around the world. In 2019 they are planning a major get-together in New Zealand and now is the time to start planning if you want to attend.
So as some of you are aware WATOC, each year, chooses one rally as Rally of the Year – 2016 saw the TOMCC Norway’s 30th Anniversary being given the title. In 2019 the title will go to our friends on the other side of the globe down in New Zealand. From past experience we know this is always a good event and venues tend to be spectacular. The dates for the rally will be 22-24 February 2019 and the venue will be the New Zealand South Island alpine resort of Hanmer Springs to the northwest of Christchurch.
The Rally will run from the Friday afternoon through to the Sunday. Indoor accommodation is available for about 200 people plus ample tent sites. Food and drink will be available throughout the weekend and cooked breakfasts and evening meals will be available with booking in advance. Entertainment in the evenings, bike shows and the usual ride-outs will be organised in this very scenic part of New Zealand.
If you are interested in going (and are a member of the TOMCC) then check out the write-up in the December 2016 Nacelle (available online to members), or jump onto the Club Forum and ask on there.
The TOMCC NZ are an autonomous Club and are not part of the TOMCC.
