Triumph have now switched on their pre-owned bike finding website for the UK, allowing users to search the country for a second hand Triumph from approved dealers. This will make it a lot easier to search for the bike you are after without having to visit every dealers' website.
The site allows you to specify the distance from your location to search over, and you can narrow down your search by specifying the range of motorcycle you're after, the model, price bracket, age, mileage, and engine cc. At the time of writing this article there were only 16 machines Nationally - from Carl Rosner (South Croydon) and Robert Bevan and Son (Cardiff) - so the site is still in its infancy (and probably still being tested) but expect that number to increase.
Judging by the age ranges available, and the fact that there is (was) a 2013 Tiger Sport listed, this is not going to be for bikes that are only up to three years old. However don't expect to find many (if any) models available older than 5 years - especially those models where the parts are no longer available new - or with excessive mileage (over 25,000).
The site itself is not too bad to use, though there are a few niggles - like how the Quick Search asks for your postcode then seems to forget it completely meaning you have to enter it in again - and when you click on Find My Bike it puts in a range of 'Fonts' which you have to clear before you see anything.
Some may see this development as Triumph's way to make sure its pre-owned machines sell to maintain their sales of new machines, but it is great news for anyone looking for a pre-owned Triumph as at a stroke you will be able to compare prices all across the country and this may well force dealers to be more competitive on pricing.
Every Approved Triumph Pre-Owned motorcycle will come with a 1 year unlimited mileage warranty, 1 year of roadside assistance, a certified vehicle quality check, a full service history, 1 year MOT, vehicle history and mileage check... and there's also finance available.
It is envisaged that other countries will follow in due course, the German Triumph Website already has a Pre-Owned link in the motorcycle models menu.
