Racing as the Dynavolt team in the 2021 British Supersport race series, Triumph have today (26th April 2021) unveiled the look of their Street Triple 765 RS machine complete with fairings. The Dynavolt team is a partnership between Triumph and PTR (Performance Technical Racing) led by Simon Buckmaster.
This is an historical return to racing as a factory team by Triumph. Although they have achieved race success in recent years - with TT wins, British Supersport championships, and the Moto2 series - they hadn't been competing directly as an official factory team until now.
Hoping to take the Street Triple 765 RS race prepared machines to success are Kyle Smith (#11) and Brandon Paasch (#96).
Although Triumph are competing in the Supersport series, this marks a departure from the previous definition of what made a bike a supersport. Triumph, in cooperation with MSVR and Dorna, are pushing forward with a new Supersport format which will see a wider range of motorcycles and engines take part. The hope is that this will re-invigorate the supersport market which is currently dominated by naked machines.
You will be able to see the Dynavolt Triumph on the track from the 28th at the official BSB test at Silverstone.
