The Despatch Rally event is a one-day event on the 7th May, open to all riders on any bike or scooter and aims to bring together the motorcycling community to celebrate and honour the Despatch riders from whom motorcycle culture descended. Consisting of 'Challenges' that you can undertake, this is not your usual Rally.
The day will consist of themed destinations and challenges throughout Dorset. Rider challenges will include shooting, motorcycle control and navigation skills. Points will be allocated to each activity and prizes presented at the event finale. The challenges include navigating around the Isle of Purbeck to gather hidden info, Clay pigeon shooting, Off road riding, and control and balance.
If you attend the Rally in military attire, or on a military themed motorcycle, you will get an advantage. The day starts at 08:30 when the HQ at the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum opens, then the briefing is at 09:20 before the Rally commences at 09:30. The event finishes at 17:30.
Tickets for the event are per machine so you will only need one ticket if you enter as a 'duo' with a pillion. Camping is available if you want to make a weekend of it.
