The TOMCC Glasgow branch were present, along with almost 200 other enthusiasts at the Triumph Glasgow season opening launch event. They enjoyed a great evening of entertainment, exhibitions, and the unveiling of the new 2018 adventure bike models - as well as getting the chance to see the new Speedmaster.
Triumph fans were greeted on arrival with VIP passes, complimentary drinks, home baking and competition prizes just before the 2018 models were revealed. Concealed under silk, branded covers were the new Tiger 800 and 1200 adventure bikes, which were introduced by Directors Martin Rees and Mike Robins. The incredible state-of-the-art technological features and engine upgrades were listed which clearly propel these versatile bikes into the next generation. The decorated new Bonneville Bobber Black was next in line to be presented and each individual, blacked out accessory on this custom cruiser was listed which demonstrated the attention to detail, ability to customise, and handsome attraction of which Triumph, the British manufacturer have managed to capture perfectly with this iconic motorcycle.
After revealing the list of accessories which garnished this stunning single seated cruiser, Triumph Glasgow exposed the highly anticipated Bonneville Speeedmaster, another 2018 model inspired by the original cruiser tourer family. The Speedmaster has been revamped, redesigned and gently restyled using customer feedback and acute precision which brings the performance, reliability and economics of this custom icon into a new dimension.
Scott Maxwell from the Triumph Owners' Motor Cycle Club Glasgow commented, "This is the bike we've all come to see. We've been reading and hearing a lot about the new Speedmaster, and in looks and features it absolutely exceeds our expectations. Might need to take it a test ride to see how it handles and performs!"
The final bike to be revealed was not nationally advertised as Triumph Glasgow kept this extremely limited edition model completely under wraps before their Season Open Night. Surrounded by eager bikers full of anticipation to find out more about this embargoed machine, a red silk drape was gracefully removed to reveal the Speed Triple 1050 R Dark - a UK exclusive Triumph motorcycle, of which only 50 have been manufactured. With the same technical features as the 2017 Speed Triple R this limited edition model carries crystal midnight matt black paintwork over bright scarlet red highlights. The bike's livery is airbrushed in intense white with a smoked aged appearance. The heart of the tank carries a hand brushed, smoke effect union flag, all designed and finished by the prestigious 8 Ball Custom Paintwork.
After the professional presentation and 2018 model reveals, the public were invited to view these bikes for themselves, book test rides and take advantage of the one-night-only special offers which spanned across the Triumph Glasgow multi level, award-winning showroom in Hillington Park. From jeans and leather jackets to t-shirts and hipflasks, the 2018 clothing and accessories range was also available to browse, try on and purchase with something in store to suit each rider and their own personal style. It's fair to say that Triumph Glasgow definitely delivered an epic launch to this years motorcycling season and for bike fans across the West Coast of Scotland.
